RED MEAT AND PREMATURE DEATH

Lawrenceville, NJ (Dr Simone) – In 1980 I wrote the first book of its genre, Cancer and Nutrition, A Ten Point Plan for Prevention and Cancer Life Extension (www.PrincetonInstitute.com) that showed for the first time a high fat diet increases your risk for cancer and cardiovascular disease. A new study, one of many, that corroborates our original work shows that eating meat from 4 legged animals can increase your risk of premature death and increase your risk of cancer and heart disease. These foods include unprocessed red meat like hamburger, pork, roast beef, lamb, and processed meat like bacon, hot dogs, bologna, sausage.

One serving (the size of a deck of cards) a day of unprocessed red meat increases your risk of premature death by 13%.

One serving a day of processed meats like one hot dog or 2 slices of bacon increases your risk of premature death by 20%.

You can dramatically decrease your risk by eating organic breast meat of two legged animals, and swimming fish from the ocean.
